Podcasting

In July of 2021, I started my own baseball podcast.

Base-ically Baseball is a podcast founded by myself and four other women interested in sports. It is an all-woman bi-weekly podcast focused on baseball, its events and politics, and occasionally other sports as well during extended offseasons. It is by women, for women to encourage their involvement in sports. I produce, edit, and host every episode, while also contributing to our social channels and promotions.

Sports Broadcasting

My freshman year, I was a part of our school's sports broadcasting program. With the program, I attended most fall sports games to film, run the replay system, and interview coaches and players. I participated in the filming of all volleyball games, and ran the replay system for a majority of basketball games as well. Along with this, at games I did some live interviews at halftime (an example of with is attached to the right).

Within the sports broadcasting class, I also made features on individual sports and athletes to be featured on our school's news program. I made approximately eight of these features throughout my semester within the class. Additionally, we also had projects in class that required practice of our broadcasting skills. One of these projects was the task of announcing a randomly selected portion of the "Miracle on Ice" game. My announcing partner was randomly selected as well, but I spent hours preparing research for the project, and even created a pronunciation guide of all the Soviet players' names as well (research included on this page).
